As I say farewell to 2016, and I look forward to the coming year in 2017, I’d like to take the opportunity to give recognition to my Sponsor as well as my Team Younger You!
Kate is my sponsor and she leads an impressive Team of Consultants in her own Team, named Team BIO, which stands for Beautiful Inside and Out.  I will tell you, and anyone who knows Kate will tell you, she is truly that person…beautiful both inside and out.  She is very positive and energetic, and she leads business and life with integrity.  I love working with her and she lives by the Golden Rule, in both actions and thoughts!  Thank you, Kate, for being that person who introduced me to the products and the opportunity.  We both love R + F for sure.
Now meet my Team Younger You:  Allison, Lisa, Karen, Michelle #1, Dr. Lynn, Dr. Cheryl, Marci, Jamie, Marcus, Michele #2!   Each one of my Team members are AWESOME people, and I am proud to have them on my Team.  Each joined the business for different reasons.  Some wanted to be personal use consultants for the steep discount, while others saw the fantastic business opportunity, and hope to build their own R + F business and Team someday and they will! There are 3 things I can say that all my Team members have in common:   1. They love the products themselves or have a family member who has benefitted greatly from the products.  2. They are all very good people with kind hearts and 3. They have been very supportive to me as their leader, which I so greatly appreciate.
This past year, as a Team, we learned a lot.  We learned about our premium skin care products, best business practices, but even more importantly, we learned about personal growth.  We learned not only about becoming a “Younger You”, but we also learned about becoming the “Best You”—in a physical, mental and spiritual sense. Every Sunday evening for the past 52 weeks, without missing, I found myself wanting to do my "life" lesson.  And each week, I shared that lesson with them on our Team page.  It was 52 steps in the right direction to achieving life’s rewards by Napoleon Hill.  The lessons were inspiring, empowering and helped me, and hopefully helped each of them, to realize all the strengths within us, and to spot the vast wealth of opportunities all around us every day.
We ended the 52nd lesson on Christmas day evening.  And ironically, that lesson was titled “The Power of Faith.”  It referred to teachings of many scholars of the past, including Christ’s teachings.   It included a few of my favorite sayings from the Bible: “You reap what you sow.” And “Do unto others as you wish them to do unto you.”   In the simplest terms, the golden rule in both thoughts and actions is the way to live life.  Faith means action and faith is a principle of power.
In 2017, I wish you the application of faith in yourself, in your fellow humans, and in all opportunities to make the world a better place that come your way!

Here’s to Good Health and Much Happiness,
Your friend, Dr. Younger You

A Holiday Greeting and Thank You from Younger You, LLC

12/22/2016

As the year ends, with the celebration of Christmas and Hanukkah and other family holiday traditions, I want to say Thank you so very much for supporting my new business, Younger You LLC.    It has been a very exciting and rewarding adventure thus far to share my knowledge of cosmetic skin care conditions and treatments that are available, as well as generally to help others to find the “Younger You” in themselves, not only physically, but also in a mental and spiritual sense.
Whether you have LIKED/LOVED a post, followed my blogs, attended an event, used the products, or become a business partner and joined my Team, I want you to know how much I have enjoyed every minute of it. The friendships and support of others I have experienced in this business are truly a gift.  The friends I have made are mostly near, but I am also making and will be making friends all over the world as our company expands across the globe!  I have enjoyed the personal development that comes along with such an adventure.
People ask me why would I start such a business.  My answer is: “Why wouldn’t I”?   It is something that I have always wanted to do, but until recently, I had not pursued my dream.  I do have a fulltime job in the medical profession and it includes on call hours. Some weeks, I put in 80 hours of work.
I watched my younger Brother take an amazing leap of faith, leave his corporate job as an IT Manager at a large east coast hedge fund and start his own business. He is a computer programmer.  I was very impressed and intrigued by all the steps he took.  On our annual Summer vacation, his business was always a topic we would discuss, and I would ask questions about it.  I would tell him a few ideas of web based businesses I was thinking about.
In choosing a business, I was thinking of items/products I used and believed in enough to want to share with others.   I also needed something that was intriguing to learn about, but fun and relaxing at the same time.  As I myself approach retirement age, I absolutely knew I did not want a bricks and mortar type of business.  With the changing times and the amazing INTERNET that connects people all over the globe, I knew an online business was the answer.
Timing is everything in life.  It was the right time, the right place, the right person, the right biz when I took my own leap of faith.  I look forward to reviewing the skin care industry and I am amazed in my lifetime how skin care products have progressed in the past 25 years, and what the future holds for amazing research to a Younger You!
I wish you a wonderful holiday with warmth, family and friends and lots of good cheer!  I also wish for Peace Around the World!

Here’s to Much Happiness and Good Health,
Your Friend, Dr. Younger You :)

Nothing Ages You Like Bony, Veiny, Crepy Age Spotted Hands

12/15/2016

This is not the first story I have told you about taking care of your hands as part of the effort in being a YOUNGER YOU, but today's blog is a little more of a personal story.  I recently realized I am not practicing what I teach, or being a product of my products!
In April 2016, I did a blog hands-down-your-hands-can-tell-your-age.html which stressed how your hands can be a give away on your age. Recently, I was out to dinner with one of my best friends from college and my daughter.  We were talking about our diamond engagement rings since my daughter was recently engaged. In extending our hands to the middle of the table, I was not thrilled how crepey, dry, and thin skinned my hand looked and closed my fingers to hide it.
A few weeks later, I had a random yet fun mini Facebook reunion with my high school friends. One of my girlfriend classmates posted a picture of her class ring.  I raced to my jewelry box to send back a picture of my ring, and once I again, I noticed my hands looked old and dry in the picture.
One reason my hands are so dry is that as a physician, I wash my hands a lot.  Plus, for all of us, our hands get as much exposure to the elements as our faces.  We forget to slather them with SPF daily. And yes, as I have taught in my blog ouch-my-daughter-got-a-sunburn.html even in the winter, you should be adding SPF to all exposed areas, including the hands, and reapplying it regularly.
What are some other practical tips to "take time off your hands"? Weekly manicures are nice, but that is time consuming and expensive. Pampering yourself with a paraffin (hot wax dipping) treatment at the salon, spa or even at home makes your hands feel fabulous, but it won't reverse aging changes of your hands. There is the old fashioned remedy of applying Vaseline or thick moisturizer, and then applying white cotton gloves while you sleep. Again, who has time to do that?

Once again, Drs. Rodan + Fields came up with a skin care regimen for the hands to battle and prevent the signs of aging. There are 2 products, called REDEFINE Hand Treatment Regimen that can be purchased together. Click dryoungeryou.myrandf.com/Shop/Product/AAHR001.
The products are also sold separately. The first one is called REDEFINE Brightening Hand Treatment. Click dryoungeryou.myrandf.com/Shop/Product/AAHC050. It is a hydrating formula that replenishes the skin's natural moisturizing factors in order to improve elasticity and resilliency, while skin brighteners visibly even skin tone and appearance.
The second product is called REDEFINE Age Shield Hand Balm
Click dryoungeryou.myrandf.com/Shop/Product/AAHB030. It is a multi-tasking balm applied to the backs of the hands to visibly reduce brown spots and firms the skin with pure Vitamin C plus contains Broad Spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 30 protection with patented SHIELD technology.
There are other high maintenance interventions for your hands as well, including laser treatments and short acting or long acting injectable fillers that can be done in the dermatologist's or cosmetic surgeon's office. Not only are these interventions highly expensive, it requires time off work and usually a series of laser treatments, or repeat injections. Ouch, I bet that has to hurt a bit, since the hands are highly innervated.
In conclusion, I decided to order the R + F Hand treatment regimen to do my own BEFORE and AFTER trial!  I will do a follow up blog and post BEFORE and AFTER pictures so that I remain consistent with using the regimen!

Here's to Good Health and Much Happiness,
Your Friend Dr. Younger You :)

PS I learned today that crepey can be spelled crepey or crepy!

Two Ladies Who Inspired My Life and My Logo

12/8/2016

I started this business Younger You LLC about 18 months ago. With any new business, there are many things to do, and one is establishing a logo. A logo by definition is a graphic design, a stylized name, a unique symbol for identifying a business. I wanted my logo to be meaningful as well.
My family was the first to try to design a logo picture.  While on vacation with my Brother Randall and his family, Randall drew a tree with some roots on it.  I was less than thrilled. It was really bad, folks!  Lol. A few other relatives tried some designs, and nothing inspired me.
I decided to go to someone who designs logos for a living.  My friend had a really awesome logo created on the first presentation by a graphic artist and referred me to the business. Of course, for me, the initial designs presented did not touch my heart.  I told the graphic artist I wanted a symbol to go with my business name "Younger You" that represented beauty, health, vitality and at the same time it had to be glitzy!   I love glitzy things!
I decided to start looking on my own for an inspirational logo.   At about the same time, I took a trip to Lilydale which is a famous little community of mediums tucked away in the countryside of southwestern New York state.  I went with a girlfriend and it was our second summer in a row going there for a visit.
We had both signed up for a reading with a different medium. During my reading, which was taped, the medium asked me something to the effect of what is this business that I was starting. Without my reply, she then revealed that both my Grandmothers were there cheering me on and clapping and encouraging me to go for it!  That touched my heart, and I knew at that moment that my logo would need to represent the memories of my Grandmothers.

I also knew right away that one of my logo symbols would be a rose because my Grandma Furdiga loved roses.  And my Grandma Richard had wild roses growing on a white trellis on the side of her house.  I knew I was on to something.
Another week or so passed, and one morning while driving in my car, I suddenly received the message in my head to include a grapevine in the logo. This was to represent my Grandma Richard who had 2 rows of robust growing grapes on their property. As a child, as "younger me", I would eat the plump dark purple grapes off the vine, and they were divine.
That very same day I went on line and googled roses and grapes; it was a unique search. There were some designs, but not a plethora. While looking for designs, I learned that grape farmers will often place rose bushes at the end of the rows of grapes, and that both roses and grapes like the same kind of soil. It was then I downloaded several designs and sent them to my graphic artist. She went to work. And after several presentations of roses and grapevines and print options for the words "Younger You", I chose the design which I have today!   I thank my girlfriends on my Team Younger You for helping me to decide as well.
I would like to dedicate this blog to both of my Grandmothers who were each very special women in my life!
My Mom's Mom is Anna H. Furdiga. She was born March 27, 1918 and died February 1, 1988.  She was a wonderful cook/baker, and when we went to her home for any visit or the holidays, she prepared wonderful feasts.  Her perogies were the best in the world!  She was funny and had a warm and inviting personality to all she met!  She always treated me so lovingly. When I was in college, she and my Grandfather would come pick me up and take me out to eat.She will always be in my heart.
My Dad's Mom is Esther Richard.  She was born November 8, 1900 and lived to be almost 91 years young, when she passed away on April 15, 1991.  Grandma Richard was also a great cook and baker. She and my Grandfather always had a huge garden. She had an old fashioned sewing machine and often times when we visited, a quilt was set up that she was hand quilting.  She did not like to have her picture taken.   She taught me that a woman never tells her age!  She wore dresses and stockings daily most of her life, until finally I recall she got some pant suits! She was down to earth, yet such a classy lady.
Today, as I prepared for this blog, I looked through many albums. My heart was sad (and I will admit I cried) because I miss and loved my wonderful Grandmothers so much, but at the same time,  I am happy for the wonderful memories they have left in my heart.
By the way, today I looked up the meaning of a coral colored rose, and it stands for desire, fascination, enthusiasm, and energy!  Quite fitting for my Biz, if I do say so myself!

Here is to Good Health and Much Happiness,
Your Friend Dr. Younger You
