LASH BOOST BY RODAN + FIELDS

I am personally super excited that Drs. Rodan + Fields came out with a nightly eyelash serum to enhance the natural appearance of one's very own lashes!  In this week's blog, I will tell you everything you need to know about our most recently launched product!
I love the look of thick long lashes. I must admit, I have tried eye lash extensions in the past.  It is expensive and time consuming to have it done.  I had to travel to a "bigger" city for this type of service and it takes awhile for the hairdresser to do the tedious process. And by the time it is due for a touch up, the lashes are quite brittle and worn looking.  I have also gotten false eye lashes to put on for special occasions, but they can be very difficult to apply and keep on straight for the entire night!  Nothing like loosing your lash in the middle of a swanky event!
LASH BOOST to the rescue! LASH BOOST was clinically studied on consumers prior to being launched and the positive results were attained for fuller-looking, longer-looking and darker looking eyelashes in just 4 weeks, but best results were attained after 8 weeks of consistent use.  The Doctors use their Multi-Med Therapy philosophy to moisturize, nourish and protect the lashes.  It is the right ingredients, in the right formulation, in the right order.  If applied according to directions, one container should last 2-3 months.  It is for persons age 18 or older.  It is sold only in the US.
You probably wonder how long will results last once the desired results are achieved or after the 8 weeks of use?  It is recommended to continue to use LASH BOOST as a maintenance beauty treatment.  The improved appearance will revert back to the original appearance if LASH BOOST is discontinued.
There are several key ingredients in LASH BOOST that make it work.  The first two, Panthenol and Sodium Hyaluronate, attract moisture to the lash, and this promotes flexibility and resilience of the lash hairs.  The ingredients of Biotin and Keratin infuse protein to help protect against future damage.  See my blog what-is-keratin.html  Peptides (Octapeptide-2, Copper Tripeptide-1, and Polypeptide 23) provide nutrition to the lashes, thereby enhancing durability and supporting a more voluminous appearance.  See my blog what-is-a-peptide.html
Before applying Lash Boost, it is recommended that all your make up is removed from around your eyes and face followed by your facial wash, then all areas are dried thoroughly prior to applying the serum to the upper lash line of both eyes.  Do not leave products "underneath" the serum.  For example, if you put on your eye cream every night, do this eye serum first, wait 90 seconds until the product dries, then use your eye cream but avoid any other product in the lash line area.
LASH BOOST was designed to be used ONCE PER DAY ONLY, preferably at night prior to going to bed, along the UPPER EYE LASH LINE only of both eyes.  As the saying goes:  "A little bit goes a long way" applies to LASH BOOST.  The brush is dipped into the product container once per eye, and then excess product that may get on your eyelid or lashes is wiped off.  There should NOT be a concentrated drop of serum on the brush.  If so, use a gauze pad to dab the excess serum.  And guess what?  That excess can be applied to your eyebrows to enhance their look!  Yes, LASH BOOST is approved to use on your eyebrows but LASH BOOST is NOT recommended to apply on the lower lash line.  The product will get applied to the lower lashes by way of natural blinking once applied to the upper lid.
What if you get some in your eye?  Simply rinse with plenty of cool water. In consumer testing, some participants experienced a mild tingling sensation upon application of the serum, which subsided in a few minutes.  This symptom disappeared with continued use of the product.  Of course, if experiencing any severe tingling, itching, redness, the product should be discontinued and medical advice should be sought.
LASH BOOST 's safety was put to the test by Drs. Rodan + Fields. Their philosophy has always been and remains to create safe and effective formulations. LASH BOOST was tested clinically by consumers and also ophthalmologists and found to be safe and non-irritating.  It is a cosmetic grade (not drug or pharmaceutical grade) product. A drug grade product contains medical or active ingredients and is designed to affect the structure and function of your lashes.  LASH BOOST does not do that.  In contrast, a cosmetic grade product is designed to condition, beautify, promote the attractiveness and alter the appearance of lashes. LASH BOOST is designed to do that!
I already reviewed the key ingredients above, but I also looked at what else is in AND not in LASH BOOST.  First of all, it is fragrance free.  For those concerned with gluten, it is not formulated with any wheat extracts/proteins, but some of the ingredients may have been processed in a facility that also processed oats, spelt, rye, or wheat. Isopropyl Clopostenate is a cosmetic conditioning ingredient and very small amounts are in LASH BOOST. For those with tree nut allergy concerns, the product contains Almond Extract more formally listed as Amydgalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Fruit Extract. Anyone with allergy concerns should review the ingredient listing with their Doctor/Allergist or If there are any concerns whatsoever, PATCH Testing can be done before trying the product.  This is simply putting a small amount of the serum on an area of the lash line and observing the skin for 24 hours.
LASH BOOST is not oil-free, it contains Backhousia Citridora Leaf Oil. LASH BOOST does contain preservatives of Chlorphenesin, Phenooxyethabol, and Sorbic acid.  Preservatives play an essential role in cosmetics to prevent bacterial growth and to prolong shelf life.  LASH BOOST has a 2 year shelf life, however once opened, it should be used within 6 months or thrown away.  If you should get pink eye, it is recommended you discard your container as is recommended with any eye make up.
Contact wearers can use LASH BOOST and apply it with your contacts in-- do not take your contacts out for 90 seconds after applying the serum; that is,  let it dry fully before removing your contacts.  Do you tint your eyelashes or brows or do you have tattooed eyeliner?  No problem, you can use LASH BOOST.
LASH BOOST should  NOT be used in pregnant or nursing women.
What is the Cost:  $150 Retail and 10% off Retail for Preferred Customers.

Thanks for the article. Can you explain why it should not be used in pregnant or nursing women?

Antonieta: The safety of this product has not been clinically tested in pregnant women, therefore it is not recommended. Although very little serum is used on the eyeine area when applied, it can still be absorbed into the woman's body through the skin. Safety of the pregnant/nursing woman and her child is first and foremost, thus it should not be used.

Have a great weekend,

I know this comments were a few years ago and I was just wondering if it has been deemed safe recently to use when pregnant?
