When my daughter was little, I had ideas that someday she would get married in the same church I did. I would have never guessed that my Daughter would want a destination wedding. But as she matured and grew into a young adult, and daydreamed about finding Mr. Right, and about her future wedding day, she made it clear she did not want the traditional church wedding. Rather, she dreamed of one day jet setting to a tropical island with a small group of family and friends, and doing her vows on a beautiful sandy beach. I thought, okay, that sounds rather nice!
Fast forward to this coming week. We are jetting to somewhere that has sun and sand, but it is not the beach. It is sunny Las Vegas, Nevada! My Daughter did indeed meet Mr. Right and they are very well suited for each other. Two peas of a pod is how they are often described. Their love for each other is very evident to all who know them, and what a blessing it is to me as a parent to know my child has found the love of her life, and seems happier and more content than I have ever seen her. I am extremely thankful, and I prayed on my knees many times for her to find her soul mate. Thank you, Lord for sending a very decent, kind and loving man into her life that I am proud to have as my Son-in-Law officially in one week.
Yesterday, someone actually asked me if I was upset that there would not be a traditional church wedding. My answer to that question was "No." This day is about the Bride and Groom---it is their big day. It is their choice on where and how to exchange vows and celebrate the day. I am there to celebrate their happiness and share in the biggest day of their life. Their happiness is my happiness. I have told both the Bride and the Groom to not let anybody or anything ruin their big day. It is about them.
So, begins the last week of hustle and bustle to get prepared and packed, and check off lists and run errands, and as the Mother of the Bride, to primp for the big day. I have my dress, my hair is low lighted and mani/pedicures are scheduled for Monday. I am shopping for shoes to match my dress on Friday night.
My Daughter has been also primping and getting ready for the big day. The other night this picture came across my phone.....and I had to laugh out loud--because you have to admit, she is so darn cute. She was doing a benzoyl peroxide mask for her acne break out. Lucky for her, Dr. Mom, called her a prescription for Doxycycline oral antibiotic to save the day. I told her.....Dearest Daughter, you need to read my blogs on these subjects: zit-fix-101.html and bridal-skin-preparation.html and the-bride-to-be.html.
So, I will try to drop a quick blog note or at least a picture next Thursday......as this Dr. Younger You will be out and about in Las Vegas and we have some "woo hoo" fun activities planned for the Bachelorette!
My Heart is Full of Happiness.
Here is to Good Health and Much Happiness,
Your Friend Dr. Younger You:)
